The Brooklyn Public Library has many classes for New Yorkers who want to learn English.

Beginner, intermediate, or advanced (Business English) classes are available. Students can practice listening, speaking, reading, and writing English for daily life and work.

You can also earn a national certification in food safety (ServSafe), Medical Billing, and digital literacy.

Classes are for non-native English speakers who are New York State residents.

You will need to attend a registration and orientation session to learn about the programs, possible career options, and take an in-person assessment.

Duration and Length Duration and Length

Classes are held at various library branches throughout Brooklyn and run three times a year (in the fall, winter, and spring) for 10 weeks.
