This six-week program prepares and places New Yorkers in cable installation jobs
New Yorkers can get training for a new career in cable installation, with work after they finish the program. The program preps students with the skills they need for work as a cable technician. It also helps grads find a job within a network of NYC employers.
To take part, you should be
- in New York City for at least 6 months
- legally eligible to work in the US
- 18 years or older
- unemployed, low-income, or receiving public assistance
- able to pass a drug test
- able to lift 50 pounds
- able to tell the difference between different colored wires
- ready to take a reading and math test and score at or above the 8th-grade level (some tips to help you prepare)
- able to attend class Monday through Friday, 8:30 am–5:00 pm in Downtown Brooklyn for six weeks
- comfortable with heights and crawl spaces
Six week program, Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm
